all about me

Ever Upward Regina Mae

My darlings, this is my love note to you.  My opportunity to remind you, to remind myself, that life can be better, that you can be better.  That as long as you keep your thoughts ever upward, your life will move ever upward.

On days when you feel like you can’t take another step, come here and be reminded that a bad day is just that.  One. Bad. Day.  And one bad day doesn’t make one bad life.

On days when things are going fabulously, come here and celebrate the goodness with me.  Let’s cover the world with joy and happiness like honey on a biscuit.

I believe in love.  I believe the more love we send out to the universe, the more it returns to us, exponentially, overflowing, until we are drowning in a sea of it.  Let’s send out so much love we raise the vibration of the earth.

I believe in second chances, because love is always worth it.  Worth the discomfort. Worth the pain. Worth the agonizing irritation of dealing with another soul’s idiosyncrasies.

Sometimes love sneaks up on you, tackles you to the ground, steals your breath and your security and your peace.  And it’s worth it.

Love-Cliff-NotesSometimes love leaves us.  It sneaks away, or slips away, or runs, flat out, as fast as it can.  Sometimes it dies so quietly you miss its last whispery breath.  Sometimes it explodes like Independence Day fireworks.  Love doesn’t come with Cliff notes or a plot synopsis or spoiler alert.  And isn’t that bloody brilliant?  How could we enjoy the precious moments we have with someone if we knew when and how it were going to end?

I’ve been reading love stories since I learned to read, and I intend to spend the rest of my life writing love stories filled with suspense and adventure. My memoir, Adventures in Dating, shares how I learned to date again after being married for over twenty years.  It’s filled with ridiculous, inspiring, hysterical and heartbreaking stories of my search for love. It’s filled with the amazing stories random people have shared with me about their own loves, both won and lost.  And at the end of the day, Adventures in Dating is my love story to myself.

I’m writing a romantic suspense trilogy set in Kirk’s Bluff, South Carolina, which is a fictional town set on the May River and based more or less loosely on the town I call home.

And this is my love story to you.  My darling, no matter how things are going in your life today, whether things are going brilliantly or horrifically, I want to hear about it and share it with you.

No matter how things are going in my life, brilliantly or horrifically, I’ll share it with you.  And somehow, we’ll cut through the bullshit  and get right to the heart of things together.

Along the way, I’ll let you know what I’m writing, and the new places I’m exploring.  I’ll introduce you to authors I love and their books.  I’ll share the most fabulous writing tips and tricks I can put my fingers on.  And I’ll shower you with love.  Because at the end of the day, that’s what I do best.

Come along for the ride, won’t you?  It’s going to be a blast.  An action-packed, adventure-filled love story from me to you.

In the meantime, keep your thoughts

ever upward,

regina mae
